It's easy to find great backyard landscaping ideas on the web these days...but how much of the advice can the average homeowner really use?
Elaborate landscape designs that are professionally installed and brilliantly executed are everywhere.
There's only one catch....you need to have the money to create such a dream in your own backyard.
Not to mention the skill to actually create it!
The building material is expensive and the designs are so elaborate you need someone else to install it for you.
For the average homeowner, that probably isn't an option.

Or maybe you just want to grow fruit and vegetables but don't know how to start a garden.

The backyard landscaping ideas on this site are presented in a simple way to help you:
This information is broken down into easy to follow instructions so that you can make the most of it and use it to improve your own yard.

This site includes lots of information based on my own personal experience and the experiences of average, middle class homeowners...many of whom reside on small city lots.
Other landscaping websites are recommended when they provide valuable information or good detail on specific projects that may be included in your backyard landscaping design.
The only products recommended are those that I have purchased myself, or those that I KNOW have worked for someone else.
It's my goal to give you information that will help you to create a beautiful backyard retreat on a nominal budget, and using only the skills that you currently posses.
I am continually adding to the Great Backyard Landscaping Ideas site, and I understand there is a lot of content to go through.
The best way to stay up to date with any additions to this site is to subscribe to the RSS feed. It automatically updates when I add new content so you will know immediately when I've made changes. Or, feel free to check out the blog for any additions.
