Looking for a viable way to earn money from the comfort of your home??? I’m so glad because I can’t WAIT to tell you all about my experience! This is the first entry of my ‘journal’, which you’ll notice that I have dated above. It is my intention to make updates regularly so that you know exactly where I’m at, and the progress that I’m making in my work at home computer employment journey.
I’m going to share with you how I got my affiliate marketing training, and the type of affiliate marketing commissions I’m making. (In general terms of course. I’m not allowed to give away exact figures – well, some companies allow it and some don’t, so I’ll just ‘ball-park’ my figures, and give it to you in lump sums, as opposed to how much I’m earning from each ‘gig’...just to be on the safe side.) It is my goal to quit my day job (oh, that feels so good just to type it!) and work from home full-time. And by ‘full-time’, I mean full-time pay for less than part-time work! Woooo hooooo!!!!
Anyways, I’m going to take you on the journey of my work at home computer employment, to let you know that this is not a lofty or unachievable goal. It is a reality, and something I will achieve this year!! (There! I said it! This year, my friends! :) If you’re anything like me, you’ve perused the internet tirelessly, looking for ways to make money online. You probably want this as additional income, or like me to replace your full-time job. As you’ve probably discovered, there are ridiculous amounts of work at home computer employment reviews on the web. It’s hard to weed through what is and isn’t legit. I think one of the first legitimate work at home reviews and affiliate marketing training that I happened upon was The Super Affiliate Handbook (opens new window) by Rosalind Gardner. I purchased her book because it seemed to offer a lot of information, and was not overly pricey. In my mind, I could justify making this purchase to learn more about affiliate marketing training. While reading it, I was introduced to affiliate marketing training with SBI (opens new window). I did some research on SBI, visited their website, and gave it a lot of thought. Reading Rosalind's book was a great first step, and a relatively easy decision because it was economical. But signing up for SBI was a bigger step...it was more of a commitment and more of a financial investment. I did, however, like the fact that the cost of membership also included the cost of web hosting (for those of you who don’t know, you have to have someone ‘host’ your website once you create it) and the cost of that alone can run around $20-$30 a month. But what really did it for me was that there were so many people who joined SBI who didn’t have a clue about work at home computer employment before they started, and were totally ‘green’ when it came to building a website. The material said that it would walk you step by step through the process until you were successful. I knew I could follow instructions so I took a chance. I opened my website in June of 2008. These are the stats of how many unique visitors have come to my website thus far: June 2008 – 17 Not too bad, hey!?!? And I knew NOTHING about building a website when I started! My goal for the month of March, 2009 has been to start earning income from my site. Affiliate marketing commissions can be several thousands of dollars per month for a well-established, and well-trafficked site. I have only just started to earn some commissions. While I’ve only earned a few dollars so far, I am thrilled because this is just the start, and it proves to me that this process is actually working!!! When I first started, I had under 100 visitors each month for the first 3 months, and now I’m averaging 100 visitors a day!!! That’s awesome! So maybe right now I’ve only earned a couple of dollars, but soon I know that this will multiple too! The owner of one of my first affiliate links that I added, commented to me in the beginning that it looked like my link was working but that there was no one visiting his site. I laughed to myself because I knew that was due to a lack of visitors to MY site. Now, there’s been over 200 visitors to his site through my affiliate link!!! The other exciting thing is that when I send my info out to friends and family to look at my work at home computer employment site, they all tell me how user friendly it is, how nice it looks, and how impressed they are! I’m thrilled that I happened upon SBI, and I know that I’ll be meeting all of my goals soon! I’ll keep you posted on my progress, so that you can decided for yourself whether or not this affiliate marketing training program has any merit to it. Well, I know what you're thinking....I haven't kept up with the "work at home computer employment journal" like I promised I would! One entry a year??? That's just sad! Well, let me update you! I have now had this site for 2 years, and I am SO PLEASED with how well it's doing! I still have my full-time job, but in April of 2010, I made over $600 for the month! Can you believe it??? $600 for the month! While I'm still not leaving my 9 to 5, I can sure tell you that this site is financially much more lucrative than any part-time job I might have! And, I should also tell you that this money has come to me based on the work that I've already done on the site...what I mean by that is that I do very little maintenance on the site to earn that income, and still it comes in! AWESOME! As far as visitors to my site, in April 2010, I had almost 20,000 visitors come to my site...in one month...yes, during the month of April alone, I had almost 20,000 visitors to this site! That is just so remarkable! In December of 2009, I opened a second site which I am working on ever so slowly. There's quite a bit to do there, and I haven't earned much yet, but if I can earn $600 with one, let's do the math people....that means $1200 for two!
